Children's Ministries
AWANA is one of our nation’s fastest growing youth organizations. Our club is one of over 20,000 around the world. The program is centered around a weekly club night consisting of three parts: Game time is packed with exciting activities that include both team and individual competition. Handbook time is a learning and training time focused on the importance of God’s Word in our daily living. Council time includes group Bible study as well as awards and recognition for individual and group achievement.
The AWANA name is an acrostic derived from a verse in the Bible found in
II Timothy 2:15: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.
Weekly meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm-8:15pm. Cubbies (3 and 4 year olds) meet in the church building. All other clubbers (K-6th grade) meet in the gymnasium, and may arrive from 6:00-6:15pm. The AWANA club year runs from September to May.
Every year out club conducts the AWANA Grand Prix (Pinewood Derby).
We also compete with other churches in athletic competitions called the AWANA Games and Sparks-A-Rama.
Our leaders and directors have some great plans for fun activities and events that we hope will keep your kids enjoying the program week after week! Most of all, we are earnestly praying that God will use His Word to change lives, making us all more like Him.
Infant Nursery
A fully staffed nursery for children from birth to age two is provided for all services.
The purpose of the nursery is to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for both parent and child. Our nursery staff will walk, rock, read, feed, and play with the babies to assure that they are content. Also, a private nook is available for nursing purposes.
Upon arrival at the nursery, you will receive a number for your child which serves as a pager number. Should your child need you during the service, your number will appear on the digital screen located on the left front wall of the Sanctuary.
Toddlers Class
The Toddlers Class is actually a Bible instruction time geared for children 2 and 3 years old. Regular dedicated and experienced Sunday School teachers teach the love of Christ from God’s Word to our most active learners.
The Toddlers stay in their classroom during the Morning Worship Service. Two teachers come in during that time to continue and reinforce the lesson of the day. Teachers during the second hour rotate on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule.
During the Sunday Evening Service and Wednesday Prayer Meeting toddlers, who parents feel are not yet ready to sit in the Sanctuary, are cared for in the Infant Nursery.
Children’s Church
It is important to integrate children into the Worship Service with their entire family. However, for children who are not ready to participate in the entire Worship Service we offer Children’s Church. Children ages four years old and older join their family in the Sanctuary for the first part of the service. They are able to take part in the singing, offering, and visualizing the pastors and leaders of the church. Then, before the morning message, children 4 years old through 2nd grade are dismissed to Children’s Church.
A structured Bible curriculum is used by the teachers who lead Children’s Church on a monthly basis. Singing, snacks, and crafts are regularly a part of their worship time together.
Children’s Choir
Children ages 3 years old through 6th grade meet weekly immediately after the Morning Worship Service for choir practice. They meet with their choir director and pianist downstairs in Bay 4 for about 15 minutes.
The choir sings periodically during the Worship Service.
