Men’s Ministries

Saturday Morning Prayer
Prayer is a vital part of any church that hopes to impact the world and its community for Christ. Jesus made it clear that where two or more are gathered together in His Name, He would be there with them. That is a wonderful blessing, a tremendous promise, and should be seized by every true believer. On Saturday mornings men from Central come to pray from 8 to 9 am. Some men come every week. Others come from time to time. Someone once said, we reach new heights when we get down on our knees to pray. We invite you to come and join us. You will be a blessing to others and will also be blessed as well.

C.O.M.P.A.S.S.
Joshua 6:15 says this, “And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose up early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times; only on that day they compassed the city seven times.”

Everyone knows what a compass does… it gives direction. Not all men fit the stereotype of not wanting to ask for directions. Men of God want and need this important help from the Lord.

The letters of the word compass stand for the
Centrality
Of
Men
Praying
And
Standing
Strong

On Friday mornings we meet at 6:15am (from our verse) till 7:15am at Denny’s on Front Street. We, too, rise up early to meet with out brothers and to meet with our Lord. We open God’s Words and open our hearts and lives to each other. We invite you to join us.

Sports
Sports and men who enjoy them have been around for a long time. The Apostle Paul makes numerous references to athletics in his writings to the church. There are lots of men with lots of interests in various sports at Central Baptist Church. If you ask around you will find the hunters, the fishermen, the golfers, the motorcycle riders, and even some Yankee fans!

We do have softball teams for men (and women). There are two separate men’s teams that play in different leagues and on different nights.

If you have some interest in sports, let us know and can direct you to others who share the same interests.
